RMI serves as the insulation subcontractor on Ford's landmark restoration of Michigan Central Station in Detroit. Our team handles all mechanical insulation throughout this historic building, now entering its next phase with hotel and commercial buildout — showcasing our ability to deliver precision work within historic preservation constraints.

Insulation and pipe support fabrication at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn

Ford World Headquarters — Dearborn

We contributed from the ground up to Ford's new World Headquarters campus in Dearborn — a multi-year project covering comprehensive mechanical insulation and custom pipe supports fabricated in-house. One of Michigan's most visible corporate builds and a showcase of RMI's integrated scope.

Scope

  • Hot and cold domestic water, chilled water, and steam/condensate piping
  • Equipment insulation on air handlers, chillers, pumps, and expansion tanks
  • Fire-rated grease duct and generator exhaust systems
  • Removable insulation blankets for valves and inspection points
  • Phased work coordinated around active patient-care operations
