Tank, Vessel & Equipment Insulation
Thermal insulation for every piece of equipment in your mechanical room — from hot boilers and vessels to cold chillers and storage tanks — including custom removable blankets for components that need routine maintenance access.
Uninsulated or damaged insulation on process equipment wastes energy that was already paid for in fuel costs. On cold equipment, missing insulation drives corrosion under insulation (CUI) — one of the most expensive hidden problems in industrial facilities. Resource Mechanical Insulation provides the full equipment insulation scope: permanent systems on fixed equipment, and custom removable blankets wherever access matters.
We support automotive manufacturing, food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical production, healthcare, power generation, and petrochemical facilities. We work around production schedules, including nights and weekends, to minimize disruption to operations.
Why Resource Mechanical Insulation?
Local 25 Union Workforce
Every insulator on our crews is trained and certified through Local 25 of the Heat & Frost Insulators and Allied Workers — the professional standard for the trade.
OSHA EMR 0.73
Our Experience Modification Rate of 0.73 ranks among the lowest in the insulation industry, reflecting a consistent commitment to job-site safety.
24 / 7 Emergency Response
Our dispatch line is staffed around the clock. When an insulation emergency hits — nights, weekends, or holidays — we mobilize immediately.
In-House Fabrication
Our Romulus shop fabricates custom pipe supports and removable blankets, cutting lead times from weeks to days and keeping your project on schedule.
What We Do
Storage Tanks & Process Vessels
Thermal insulation on horizontal and vertical storage tanks, process vessels, pressure vessels, surge tanks, and expansion tanks. Material selected to the operating temperature range and environmental exposure.
Boilers, Heat Exchangers & Deaerators
High-temperature mineral wool, calcium silicate, and ceramic fiber insulation on boilers, shell-and-tube heat exchangers, deaerators, and condensate receivers — reducing fuel consumption and protecting personnel.
Chillers, Pumps & Cold Equipment
Flexible elastomeric foam and polyisocyanurate with vapor barriers on chillers, cold storage tanks, chilled water pump assemblies, and condenser water and makeup water lines, equalizer piping, and similar cooling-tower-associated piping (we insulate the piping, not the towers themselves). Prevents corrosion under insulation (CUI) from condensation.
Removable Insulation Blankets
Custom-fabricated removable blankets for valves, flanges, strainers, steam traps, and any equipment component requiring regular maintenance access. Each blanket is tagged and numbered for fast reinstallation.
RMI fabricates and installs custom removable insulation blankets for clients who need maintenance access without sacrificing thermal performance. Each blanket is built to exact measurements taken at your facility, with stainless steel fastening hardware and high-temperature inner materials rated for the specific operating environment.
Our Process
Site Assessment
We walk your facility or review mechanical drawings to fully understand the scope, access requirements, and any scheduling constraints.
Detailed Proposal
You receive a clear, itemized quote with material specifications, quantities, and a realistic installation timeline.
Installation
Our union-trained crew completes the work per spec, maintaining quality checkpoints and coordinating with other trades on active job sites.
Documentation & Follow-up
We provide as-built notes, material records, and warranty information. We remain available for questions and follow-on scope.
